Important TinaCloud authentication changes coming in October

Over the last 12 months, we've been focusing our efforts on making TinaCloud more reliable and secure. Big updates are coming to TinaCMS over the next few months, and we want to let you know about them.

We'll be completing the full migration to our new authentication system, which will be faster and more reliable across the board.

If you prefer to hear about these changes, we've summarized them in the video below.

What you need to know:

• We've already started rolling these changes out in version 3.12. If you're on 3.12 or above, your CMS is ready for October.
• If you're still on 3.11 or below when we make the switch in October, you won't be able to log into your site to update content until you upgrade your TinaCMS to at least 3.12.

How you sign in

• If you sign in with a password, you'll need to set a new one when we make the switch. We'll email you a link at the time, so there's nothing to do now. If you use two-factor authentication, you'll be asked to set that up again as well.
• If you sign in with GitHub, nothing changes. You'll keep signing in exactly as you do today.

An Important Note

This change only affects TinaCloud customers. If you're self-hosting TinaCMS, there's nothing you need to do.

About your content

Your content is stored on GitHub and will not be affected by this change at all. If you have any problems logging into TinaCloud after the rollout, don't panic - your content is safe.
